A portable aluminium multi-fold ramp with a black non-slip grip surface, made for loading a manual wheelchair, electric wheelchair or mobility scooter into the car boot. It is dual-purpose: occupied mobility aids can also use it for smooth, safe access over steps, kerbs and doorways, and it suits wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walking aids. Lengths run from 4ft to 10ft, with a 730mm open width and 720mm internal width.

Features

• Compact folding design: the 4ft and 5ft ramps fold to half their width and length. From 6ft upwards the ramps split into two sections, each folding to half its length, so they are easier to carry and store. Pins are supplied to join the two sections securely into one wide ramp.
• Black grip-tape running surface gives high traction, even in the wet.
• High-visibility contrasting safety edges (50mm raised sides) help stop users wheeling off and reduce trip hazards, making the ramp suitable for commercial settings and helpful for users with limited vision.
• Curved design adds ground clearance, which helps mobility scooters and electric wheelchairs with low clearance and makes uneven surfaces easier.
• Curved foot and rest-on connection give a smooth transition on and off the ramp. Pre-drilled holes in the rest-on connection let you secure the ramp during use if you prefer.
• Lightweight for easy handling, with a built-in carry handle; it clips securely shut for lifting and moving.

How to Use

Simply rest the ramp on the step, kerb or car boot and start using it; no installation is needed.

Choosing Your Length

• Measure the vertical height from the ground to where the ramp will rest on your car boot. This is your load height; the maximum load height is shown in the table below.
• The recommended load height for loading unoccupied wheelchairs and scooters is based on a 1:33 gradient. Check your scooter's manual to make sure this gradient is suitable.
• For occupied use, the maximum gradient is 1 in 6 for unassisted wheelchairs, although 1 in 8 is recommended.
• The 10ft ramp is quite heavy, so check it suits your needs before ordering.

Good to Know

• The non-slip surface is glued to the metal, so the ramp should not be kept outside or left exposed to the weather.
