Lightweight Telescopic Wheelchair Ramps (Pair) – 4ft to 7ft, 275kg Capacity, with Carry Bag
£204.00
A pair of lightweight telescopic wheelchair ramps (also called channel ramps) with a black anti-slip grip surface, in 4ft, 5ft, 6ft and 7ft lengths. They let manual wheelchair users, self-propelled or attendant-assisted, safely get over steps, kerbs, doorways and thresholds at home or in commercial settings. They suit anyone who wants a compact ramp to take out and about, a solution for narrow doorways, or something easier to lift than a folding ramp. Price and capacity are for the pair.
Features
- 275kg capacity across the pair.
- 46mm high safety edges help stop wheels coming off the sides.
- Curved, rubber-coated rest-on connection grips the step or doorway and keeps the ramp in place; with the curved foot it gives a smooth transition on and off.
- High-traction black anti-slip surface.
- Telescopic design: press the button to shorten the ramp to its stored size. A safety button stops the ramps extending while stored.
- Very lightweight: 2.55kg to 4.65kg per ramp depending on length, and among the lightest ramp options available.
- Includes a zip-up carry bag with handle for easy lifting and storage at home or in the car boot.
- No installation: unslide the ramps, rest them on the step, kerb or doorway, line up the wheels and go.
- One-year warranty.
Sizes
- Lengths: 4ft, 5ft, 6ft or 7ft (each ramp is used at its one set length)
- Width per ramp: 190mm total, 150mm internal
- Maximum load height: 200mm to 355mm depending on length
- Weight: 2.55kg to 4.65kg per ramp; 5.1kg to 8kg per pair
Suitability
- For manual wheelchairs only. Generally not suitable for electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters, because the raised safety edges can catch on vehicles with low clearance. If you do want to use them this way, check that the ground clearance, including battery clearance, is more than 4"/100mm; otherwise low-profile channel ramps or a folding wheelchair ramp are a better fit. For loading an empty scooter or wheelchair into a car, scooter ramps for cars are recommended.
- For ramps that can be set at a range of lengths, adjustable telescopic ramps are available.
- Channel ramps are lighter and more compact to store than a single wide ramp and are ideal for narrow doorways, but pushing a wheelchair up them takes more care with footing.
- To find the right length, measure your rise (step height) and allow for the gradient you need.
Good to Know
- The grip surface is glued to the metal ramp, so the ramps are not suitable to be kept outside or left exposed to the weather.
- The yellow push button shown in some older pictures is no longer fitted. Pictures are for illustration only; the actual product may vary due to product improvements.
