Aluminium Wheelchair Ramp Kit with Handrails – 2ft to 12ft L, 720mm or 933mm W, 350kg
£936.00
A solid aluminium access ramp kit for wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walking aids and anyone needing extra support. Offered in a wide choice of lengths so you can achieve a smooth, safe gradient, it suits homes, gardens and businesses and can be used as a portable ramp or secured in place for the longer term. Use it with both handrails, a single handrail or none at all.
Features
- 350kg capacity – suitable for manual and electric wheelchairs, mobility scooters and walkers.
- Use as a fixed, semi-permanent or temporary ramp: put it down when needed, or fix it in place for weeks, months or years.
- Full-width anti-slip aluminium surface for strong grip.
- 5cm high safety edges on both sides stop users rolling off; the corners are coated black for contrast to help reduce trip hazards.
- Curved foot and curved rest-on connection give a smooth transition on and off the ramp.
- Double handrails designed specifically for this ramp, ideal for people who use a walking aid. The 3ft–12ft lengths have a U-shaped handrail; the 2ft has a rectangular handrail.
- Suitable for indoor and outdoor use and can be left outside.
- Overcomes steps, kerbs and doorways, in domestic and commercial settings.
- Two-year warranty.
Sizes
- Lengths from 2ft (610mm) to 12ft (3657mm), for one step or several.
- 720mm wide (usable width 690mm) or 933mm wide (usable width 888mm).
- Total width with handrails fitted: 807mm (720mm ramp) or 1020mm (933mm ramp).
- Height with handrails in place: 927mm.
- Rest-on connection is 60mm long and 900mm wide on the 933mm ramp.
- Maximum load height 600mm; ramp weight 8kg – 53.4kg depending on size.
- Handrails are generally the same length as the ramp, though some lengths overhang by around 2cm.
Installation
- Fixings to attach the handrails are included; you will need a 14mm and a 17mm spanner (not supplied).
- Most handrails take 15–30 minutes to fit; for kits over 6ft, two people make assembly easier.
- Assemble the whole kit loosely first, then tighten the bolts fully before use.
- Pre-drilled 6mm holes in the rest-on connection let you secure the ramp to the step with concrete bolts, wood screws, pegs or bolts (ground fixings not included).
Choosing Your Ramp
- Maximum gradient 1:6, though 1:8 is recommended.
- Handrails are recommended where possible for safety, especially for people using walking aids.
- For longer runs, or to split the weight for carrying, two ramps can be joined with a joining support.
- For a landing or turning area, or an L-shaped layout where space is limited, pair it with an adjustable turning platform.
- If you need a freestanding ramp that does not rest on the door frame (e.g. uPVC doors), choose the adjustable wheelchair ramp with handrails instead.
- The 10ft and 12ft ramps are large and heavy, so please check the size suits you before ordering.
- Recommended for use as a mobility aid only.
