Overview

A portable aluminium bridge ramp that rests over a doorway or threshold so wheelchair users and people with rollators or walking frames can cross it safely. Built on support stands, it protects the door frame from the weight of the wheelchair and stops the ramp flexing – ideal for PVC, WPVC and patio door thresholds with rises up to 75mm.

Features

  • Quick to set up – no installation; rest it over the threshold and start using it.
  • Supported design with legs that keep the ramp off the threshold, protect the door frame and eliminate flex.
  • High-traction black anti-slip surface, with contrasting edges that highlight the ramp for users with limited vision.
  • Smooth gradient for a comfortable crossing.
  • 350kg capacity – suitable for assisted and unassisted manual wheelchairs and walking aids.
  • Lightweight aluminium, 4kg – 8kg depending on height; easy to lift and move, or leave in place.
  • One-year warranty.

Sizes

  • 30mm high: 400mm L x 700mm W, 4kg, supports 113mm apart.
  • 75mm high: 900mm L x 700mm W, 8kg, supports 137mm apart.
  • The 700mm width fits within door frames while still being wide enough for a manual wheelchair.

Choosing Your Ramp

  • Measure the vertical height of your threshold on both sides – this ramp is only for doorways where the height is the same on each side. On uneven rises one side would be steeper, which is uncomfortable and could let the ramp move.
  • For uneven heights, use an adjustable threshold ramp with entry plate, a folding drive-in ramp, or a rubber threshold ramp on each side of the door.
  • The door cannot be closed while the ramp is in the doorway; the folding drive-in ramp has a fold-up tail so it can stay in place with the door shut.
  • Not suitable for mobility scooters or electric wheelchairs: their low clearance and long wheelbase can catch on the ramp. Use rubber threshold ramps either side of the door, or a roll-out ramp laid over the threshold, instead.
  • Only suitable for use as a mobility aid.
  • Product images are for illustration only; the actual item may vary slightly as the design is improved.
