How do I choose the right ramp length?
Measure the height you need to climb, from the ground to the top of the step, kerb or load bed, in millimetres. The gentler the slope, the longer the ramp. For wheelchairs, a slope of 1:12 to 1:15 is usual. For loading vehicles and machinery, 10° to 15° is usual. The ramp length finder in our menu and on each ramp page works this out for you.
What load capacity do I need?
Add up the total weight that will be on the ramp at once, for example a wheelchair and its user, or a machine and its driver, and choose a ramp rated above that figure. Each product page states the capacity, and whether it is per ramp or per pair.
Can I buy without paying VAT?
